Surge Scientific · Model TC0401001 · Single-Block Sample Heater

Dry Bath Incubator
1-Block Sample Heater · LED Digital + PT1000

150°C Max · ±0.2°C Stability · ±0.1°C Display · External PT1000 Included · 0–99h 59min Timer

A dry bath is only useful when the sample temperature matches the setpoint — not the block. The TC0401001 ships with an external PT1000 probe that auto-detects when plugged in, overrides the internal sensor, and drives the heating element using the actual liquid temperature. 150°C peak, ±0.2°C stability and uniformity, ±0.1°C display accuracy, and a built-in 99-hour timer — the accurate single-block heater for the lab that values a compact footprint.

Why a Single-Block Heater Is the Right Call

Most dry bath work doesn't need four blocks running four protocols simultaneously — it needs one block doing one job, precisely, reliably, and on a bench that doesn't have a square foot to spare. A single-block unit takes up roughly the footprint of a textbook and leaves the rest of the bench for the actual experiment.

The TC0401001 is the right size for the workflow it's built for: single-protocol runs, single-sample-type prep, one-technician benches. It keeps the ±0.2°C uniformity, PT1000 closed-loop control, auto-calibration, and programmable setpoints of the multi-block units — just without the positions and power consumption you wouldn't be using anyway.

🌡️

PT1000 Closed-Loop

External PT1000 probe included — auto-detected when plugged in, overrides internal sensor, drives heating from the sample temperature directly. Plus auto-calibration.

🎯

±0.2°C Uniformity

Temperature stability and uniformity within ±0.2°C, display accuracy ±0.1°C. The precision that temperature-sensitive enzymatic and molecular biology workflows actually need.

💾

4 Programmable Setpoints

Store and recall up to four temperature setpoints with dedicated buttons. No hunting through menus — your 37°C, 65°C, 95°C, and 42°C protocols are one tap away.

🔲

30+ Block Options

Compatible with 30+ anodized aluminum blocks — 1.5 mL tubes, 15 mL tubes, 50 mL tubes, 0.2 mL PCR tubes, cuvettes, vials. Custom blocks on request.

"150°C. ±0.2°C. PT1000 in the box." — The TC0401001 is built around the three numbers that actually decide whether a dry bath is useful: peak temperature, sample uniformity, and whether you're measuring the block or the liquid.

Ideal Applications

🧬

Molecular Biology

DNA denaturation, hot-start PCR prep, DNA digests, cell digestion, enzyme preservation, and electrophoresis gel work that depends on precise setpoint control.

🧫

Microbiology & Diagnostics

LAL tube incubation, blood-bank work, culture incubation, agar melting, and microbiologic sample prep where ±0.2°C uniformity is the difference between a valid run and a retry.

🧪

Analytical Chemistry

Total nitrogen/phosphorus testing, sample digestion, battery testing, in situ hybridization, and any workflow that lives at a narrow temperature band.
