Surge Scientific · Model TC0401002 · Dual-Block Sample Heater

Dry Bath Incubator
2-Block Sample Heater · LED Digital + PT1000

150°C Max · ±0.2°C Stability · Two Independent Blocks · External PT1000 Included · 99h Timer

Most real molecular workflows need two temperatures, not one — 95°C denaturation then 65°C ligation, 37°C incubation then 95°C heat-kill, or one block running PCR tubes while the other holds conical tubes for a parallel prep. The TC0401002 runs two independent block positions simultaneously on a single footprint, with ±0.2°C uniformity, PT1000 closed-loop control, and a built-in 99-hour timer.

Why Two Blocks Beats One + Waiting

The single-block dry bath workflow looks clean on paper until you're actually running it: denature at 95°C, wait for the block to cool, re-equilibrate at 65°C, hope the samples didn't degrade while the unit was ramping down. Every transition adds 10–15 minutes of wait time. Every multi-step protocol becomes a queue.

The TC0401002 puts two block positions on one unit — run both at the same temperature for double the throughput, or run them at different setpoints for sequential protocols with zero wait between steps. Both blocks get the same ±0.2°C uniformity, the same PT1000 closed-loop accuracy, and the same 4 programmable setpoints — it's two dry baths on the power draw of one.

🔢

Two Block Positions

Run two heating blocks simultaneously — same setpoint for double throughput, different setpoints for sequential protocols with no wait-time between steps.

🌡️

PT1000 Closed-Loop

External PT1000 probe included. Auto-detects when plugged in, overrides internal sensor, drives heating from the actual sample. Auto-calibration included.

🎯

±0.2°C Uniformity

Temperature stability and uniformity within ±0.2°C across both blocks. Display accuracy ±0.1°C. Each block behaves like a standalone precision heater.

💾

4 Setpoint Memories

Store and recall four temperature setpoints with dedicated buttons — your 37°C, 65°C, 95°C, and 42°C protocols are one tap away, no menu diving required.

"Two blocks. Two setpoints. Zero wait between steps." — The TC0401002 turns sequential dry-bath protocols into parallel ones — 95°C and 65°C running at the same time, not the same block ramping up and down twice.

Ideal Applications

🧬

Multi-Step Molecular

Denature / anneal, digest / heat-kill, incubation / hot-start prep — two temperatures running simultaneously so multi-step protocols collapse into one bench session.

🧫

Parallel Sample Prep

Run PCR tubes on one block and conical tubes on the other — two sample types, two block geometries, one unit, same PT1000 precision.

🏭

Diagnostic & QC

Throughput-critical diagnostic labs, blood-bank work, LAL testing, and clinical QC where a single-block queue would slow the whole workflow.

What's in the Box

The TC0401002 ships with the external PT1000 probe. Heating blocks are sold separately — browse 30+ standard blocks or request custom machining. Mix-and-match two different block geometries on the same unit.
