Why Speed Without Uniformity is Useless in qPCR

Fluorescence scanning speed and thermal block performance are the two parameters most labs examine separately — but they fail or succeed together. A fast scanner on a thermally uneven block amplifies the unevenness: the wells that heat faster reach denaturation first, those that cool slower anneal late, and what looks like biological variation in your Ct values is actually instrument artifact.
