The MMR-800 is the microplate reader engineered for routine ELISA and absorbance-based assays with the throughput and configurability that production labs actually need. 96-well plate read in 7 seconds (fast mode), 384-well plate in 13 seconds. 8-position filter wheel ships pre-loaded with the three workhorse ELISA filters — 405 nm, 450 nm, 620 nm — and accepts 17 additional optional filters from 340 nm to 820 nm for any colorimetric or biochemical assay. 7-inch color touchscreen with intuitive built-in software handles experiment design, plate layout, and analysis without needing a connected PC.
Why Filter Wheel Architecture Still Wins for Routine ELISA
Two optical architectures dominate microplate reading. Filter-wheel readers use a rotating wheel of bandpass filters, each tuned for a specific wavelength — they're fast, robust, and produce clean signals at the wavelengths they're designed for. Monochromator readers use a tunable diffraction grating that sweeps wavelengths — flexible, but slower and with weaker signals at any given wavelength compared to a dedicated filter.
For routine ELISA, BCA, Bradford, and standard colorimetric assays, filter-wheel architecture wins on every metric that matters: signal-to-noise ratio, read speed, reproducibility, and cost. The MMR-800's 8-position filter wheel ships ready-to-run with the three filters that handle 90% of ELISA workflows (405 nm for ABTS, 450 nm for TMB, 620 nm for reference subtraction). When your assay menu expands, swap in any of 17 optional filters from 340 to 820 nm — including 340 (NADH/NADPH), 414, 492, 540, 595 (Bradford), 650 (PNP), and into the visible range. Eight slots, swap as needed — no buying a second instrument for every new assay.
